Trading Spot and Futures
This section answers some of the more general questions in regards to trading Spot and Futures (perp) markets via Sumex's integrated terminal. Please note that this section should not be treated as a financial advice or trading strategy, but rather as a description of technical and functional capacities that one can expect when engaging with Sumex.
Can I trade on both CEXes and DEXes from Sumex?
Yes — Sumex supports trading on both centralized exchanges (CEXes) and decentralized exchanges (DEXes) through a single, unified interface.
For CEX trading, your API key must be configured with the appropriate trading permissions (not just read-only access). Supported features — such as spot, futures, or unified trading — may vary depending on the specific exchange.
On the DEX side, you can seamlessly swap assets across chains using smart routing, directly from your connected Web3 wallet.
Sumex simplifies it all — no more switching platforms or juggling multiple interfaces.
How can I trade on CEXes via Sumex?
In order to use our trading functionality, all that is required is to connect your CEX account API key via Connection manager. Once that is done, you will be able to see that CEX account’s details in the Portfolio section and use the funds in the account directly in Sumex’s trading interface.
How does cross-chain swapping work?
Cross-chain swaps on Sumex allow you to trade assets across different blockchain ecosystems — without needing to rely on centralized exchanges.
Sumex integrates trusted bridges and DEX aggregators to enable seamless, non-custodial swaps between tokens on separate chains. When you initiate a cross-chain swap, Sumex:
- Automatically finds the most efficient route
- Executes the bridging and swapping steps in a single transaction flow
- Applies slippage control and routing optimization behind the scenes
Just select the tokens and chains — Sumex handles the complexity so you can swap securely and easily across ecosystems.
Is slippage or routing optimization handled automatically?
Yes — Sumex automatically handles routing optimization and applies slippage protection during swaps.
We scan multiple DEXes, aggregators, and bridges to find the most efficient route with the best execution price and lowest fees. You can manually configure your slippage tolerance in the Sumex UI — this setting defines the maximum acceptable price difference during a trade.
While the swap itself is executed within external pools and protocols, your slippage setting is consistently applied across all steps of the route, including multi-hop and cross-chain swaps. Sumex ensures your preferences are enforced end-to-end.
Can I follow or copy other traders?
Not yet — but it’s coming soon.
Copy trading is a core feature we’re actively working on. Once released, it will allow users to automatically mirror trades from selected master accounts directly into their own connected wallets or CEX accounts.
This system is designed to benefit both sides:
- Followers get hands-free exposure to proven strategies
- Master traders can monetize their performance through follower-based incentives
- It’s a win-win — built to empower both experienced traders and those looking to learn by doing.
Do I need a financial advisory license to share my strategies or trading bots?
No — you don’t need a financial advisory license to share your own trading strategies, bots, or signals on Sumex.
However, there are a few important guidelines to follow:
- Clearly state that you're not a licensed financial advisor
- Include disclaimers that past performance does not guarantee future results
- Be transparent about any risks, fees, or potential conflicts of interest
Since it's our mission to make crypto management as convenient and transparent as possible, it’s also in our utmost interest to ensure users are not misinformed. That’s why published strategies on Sumex will display historical performance metrics and highlight potential risks — so users can make better-informed decisions.
Can I set alerts or notifications on specific assets?
Not yet, but it’s on our roadmap — especially as part of the upcoming mobile app and AI Assistant integration. Alerts and notifications will work together with these features to deliver real-time, personalized updates right when you need them.
